Sandy Gives His Final Thoughts On The Polestar 2 Ep. 5
In this episode, Sandy sums up his general impressions of this vehicle and it is very positive. In fact, Sandy says that this might be the next closest competitor to Telsa from his cursory examination of the vehicle in these past few episodes. Only a full teardown would reveal exactly where Polestar 2 stands next to Tesla, but we will rely on our viewers to let us know what they want to see next.
In general though Sandy likes the looks, many of the features – especially safety features and deems at least from this surface look that Volvo has made some wise design choices.

Sandy Talks Ride and Drive on the 2021 Polestar 2 – Ep 4
Sandy takes the Polestar 2 for a spin in this fourth installment of Munro Live’s video series on this vehicle.
Sandy first navigates out of the back of Munro, pointing out that we are going to be tearing down in detail the Mustang Mach E that is sitting in our parking lot. Sandy’s attention is then immediately drawn to the navigation/infotainment display remarking that it makes sense to him.
The rearview from a physical perspective is kind of tight, so Sandy says he will have to rely more on the camera and sensors. Sandy plays around with the one-pedal driving, explaining his experience there.

In the second episode on the 2021 Polestar 2, Sandy has a look under the “bonnet” of the car to have a look at the fuse box. In the Polestar you find a conventional fuse box build with replaceable fuses. Sandy compares this to the Tesla vehicles that instead has fuses that can be turned back OTA (over-the-air program).
Sandy goes on to discuss the pluses and minuses of having a double latch for the hood and how that can affect space for the cooling module. Upon further exploration, Sandy finds one of his favorite fasteners, especially because it came out of one of Sandy’s Lean Design workshops year ago. Beyond that though, this fastener is strong, versatile, and can be removed and put back on indefinitely.
Sandy goes on to explain why the hood is shaped the way that it is for collisions and finds another one of his favorite fasteners the self-piercing rivet.

Sandy Shares His First Impressions On the 2021 Import Polestar 2 Ep1
Diverging off the beaten path, Sandy has a look at an imported Polestar 2, which Sandy admits he didn’t even realize was something you could find in the USA.
Right away though, Sandy is impressed with the fit finish and quality of the car, remarking the the gaps are perfect. The viewers may be shocked to hear that Sandy has a lot of praise for the new Chinese-made vehicles. Munro has been working with Chinese companies for years and over roughly a decade, we have watched Chinese car manufacturers go from… hmm… questionable quality to superb builds from certain manufacturers – and this car seems to be in that league of excellence. Now, of course, this car is made under the Volvo brand which is known for safety and quality and it definitely shines through on this car.
From the seating and feel of the wheel, placement of the navigation and some wonderful finds in the trunk Sandy finds a lot to remark positively about. It isn’t all perfect though, Sandy finds a bunch of quicky things to comment on, like mirrors that are perhaps too small, and a hidden cup holder, but overall it is an impressive first look at the vehicle. watch the full episode below and be sure to follow this series for Sandy’s insights on the rest of the car.
