Costing Engineer for Design Profit Software

Senior Operations Research Analyst

DP-Software

Master’s degree in Statistics, and 1 year of experience as Research Analyst, Statistician, or related.

  • Assist in team management and leadership responsibility by supervising other engineers in costing methodologies, determining program and personnel requirements, and evaluating team member performance to requirements.
  • Lead the costing team maintain the old cost models and develop new cost functions in Design Profit® software.
  • Conduct software and cost models’ demonstration and training for new business development purposes.
  • Develop cost databases maintenance plans that identify resource and budgetary needs. Guide cost engineers maintain the databases.
  • Host the regular internal software and costing training for new employees.
  • Create final project reports and conduct the report out meeting to customers.
  • Evaluate and give insights on the statistical methods and procedures used to obtain data to ensure validity, applicability, efficiency, and accuracy.
  • Read and interpret technical drawings and requirements, evaluate physical components, and use Design Profit® software to analyze for product designs, complexity, manufacturing operations, assembly (DFA/DFM), and cost analysis.
  • Benchmarking and reverse engineering of product designs, material identification, and manufacturing processes.

Senior Design Engineer

Bachelor’s Degree or higher in engineering (mechanical/manufacturing) related field. 10+ years of professional experience as an engineer. Must be a U.S. Citizen and eligible to obtain a security clearance as you will be working on government contracts (D.o.D.).

  • Thorough understanding of common manufacturing processes and the associated design considerations, particularly metal forming and injection molding.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of linear dimensioning and application of GD&T.
  • Ability to understand and analyze GD&T for producibility analysis.
  • Develop Tolerance Stack ups and conduct Variation Simulation Analysis.
