We’re at episode 33 of Munro’s Tesla Model Y Performance teardown, where Munro & Associates CEO Sandy Munro discusses the body-in-white (BIW) as it starts to be dismantled.
This episode starts off with sparks, as a Munro engineer begins breaking down the BIW using an air arc.
Sandy then walks us through the design of the Model Y and what has to happen when designing the body for manufacturability and functionality. He takes a look at welding strategies, panel shingling and structural doublers and more.
